Solved: stuttery YouTube playback on Chrome on Mac OSX

Since some time, whenever i played a YouTube video, the fan would start, and i would see high CPU usage (150% or more) of "Google Chrome Helper". Now, probably there are many possible causes and solutions, but for me, installing the Chrome extension h264ify seems to have solved. The extension forces YouTube to use the h264-codec, instead of the VP9 codec; the latter is preferred, but only on machines where Chrome uses hardware to do the necessary computations, which doesn't happen on many Macs (although i heard they are capable, but apparently Google hasn't given Chrome the necessary love so it actually uses that hardware on  the Mac).
