O.k., it is still in the lab, but it looks as small steps to smarter more helpfull computer technology. This Microsoft research project shows a digital assistant able to recognize people, understand speech, speak for itself and schedule a shuttle.
When i came across this posting i also found this project. A camera in or near the eye would be both helpfull for people having sight trouble, as well as augmented reality i blogged about before, or recording (parts of) your life, real-time, so you can use it later.
