Family survival

Last weekend we had a great trekking / survival weekend near Cap Bohan in the Belgium Ardennes. We slept in small tents, learned how to use knives, chopp wood, burn things like a bowl or spoon from wood using a glowing cole, identify animal tracks, what you can eat from the forrest (mushrooms, plants), drank from a small river, learned to walk through the forrest bare footed and blind folded, learned how to make a fire, learned how to tell whether water is drinkable or not (you can tell by certain insects in the water), how to build a shelter and maybe even more ... We saw a deer, and learned you might even see a lynx, if you're really lucky. So thanks to Jurgen, Chris and Dorien from trekkingschool.be and Jos Tuininga (from Bushcraft.be).
