I love all the online stuff like wordprocessors, spreadsheets, and (new) tools to simply create online database driven applications etc. But yes, you could only use those while being online. But now solutions like Google Gears are launched, enabling you to continue working with 'online' applications, even while being offline. The Gears software will sync your data as soon as you're back online again. Great! It is still in beta, and applications are just starting to get available (read Google Reader messages offline, or use your ToDo list offline), but lots of coders must be busy to have their solution use Gears functionality...
